This is a superb, low-profile pair of pedals, with quality bearings and an impressively low weight. One penalty of this low weight though is a slightly flexible axle, only showing itself when really pounding out of the saddle. The pedals are compatible with standard Shimano cleats, meaning you can swap bikes with your SPD-toting buddies too. The only drawback some riders found was an unpredictable release angle, but then others found them absolutely fine. It seemed to come down to the angle of the foot when attempting to twist out — lift your foot off the horizontal and there was a danger of being stuck in when the split rear jaws flexed.
It is the only problem with what is otherwise a really sound package, but considering it's a clipless pedal's only job, we've marked them down accordingly.
